HELIOS Tech. structural system

Material used
A keynote of the whole supporting system of HELIOS Tech. is the utilization of the properties of composite materials. The composite elements utilized by us have been used for several decades under the extreme conditions of underground and mining building engineering where it is vital for the material to maintain, if possible, all its properties for the entirety of its lifetime. Thanks to its properties the composite is envisioned as a HI-TECH material of the future.

The composite structural bars and pipes are produced by drawing them from continuous glass fibers interconnected with polyester or epoxy resin. Combining these two synthetic materials results in excellent mechanical properties - excellent resistance to chemical influences, ultra-violet radiation, to the effect of water, do not corrode, and are electrically neutral. Other mechanical benefits of these materials include e.g. a high tensile strength, low value of ductility, as well as elasticity, toughness and dimensional stability. That is why we utilize all these above-mentioned properties beneficially in the supporting structures of HELIOS Tech., which are designed to serve for a minimum period of 30 years without problems and at low operating costs.

The supporting system from composite material
The supporting system of HELIOS Tech. consists in marginal anchoring elements, between which the supporting composite rods are initially tensioned on which the photovoltaic panels are mounted later. These initially tensioned rods are supported in a distance between the axes of about 6 m with continuous stabilization frames, which are formed by screwed-in composite columns and a U-shaped composite beam.

Individual elements of the continuous stabilization frames are interconnected using special anchor components so that the efficient inclination of the structure is obtained as required by the project. Special stainless clamps are used to subsequently fit the photovoltaic panels to the inclined mounting area formed as described above.
